Yes, I know its strange but for some dumb reason Nasser prefers to misspell this movie as POP CARN instead of pop corn. Maybe it has something to do with the recent regulation that Tamil movies must stop having English names. Who knows??

But Nasser is now producing and directing this latest movie which is nothing but a simple straightforward 'popcorn' entertainer. 

And Nasser wanted A.R. Rahman to score the music for the film but was unsuccessful in getting him to do so. So eventually Yuvan Shankar Raja got the assignement.

But what Nasser was successful was in getting Mohanlal to sign the dotted line to play the lead role. Mohanlal who usually shies away from movies in languages other than Malayalam has made a strong exception just for Nasser.

And the lucky lady to be casted opposite Lal is none other than Simran. Simran is undoubtedly on the right track with Pammal K Sambandham with Kamal and Mani Ratnam's Kannathil Muttamithal opposite Madhavan. She also has another comedy with Kamal besides this flick.

Making the debut as Simran's daughter in the film will be Simran's younger  sister Jothi. And also we shall see Shakthi, another fresh face.
