DHIL is a new movie from the director Dharani, who earlier directed a Mammooty starrer ETHIRUM PUTHIRUM

The movie is an important one for the lead man Vikram who is yet to come up with a performance that could match up with one like that in SETHU. This time he takes an action role hoping to click with the audience.

And he does do it to an extent!

THE STORY

Vikram plays the role of a youth who has just appeared for his Police force exams, and is waiting for a call to join the force. His mentor is played by another inspector, Nasser.

But during this time, Vikram bashes up a corrupt cop (ashish vidhyarthi) for messing with his girlfriend (Laila). As a result, the cop ruins Vikram's chances of making it as an inspector, by making the police officials believe that he is an anti-social element.

Later Vikram is put into situations where he has no authority but takes it as his responsibility to wipe out the anti-social elements in the society.

 WHERE THINGS WENT RIGHT

Vikram is once again at his best in the movie. The same fire and effort we saw in him in SETHU can be seen all over again in this movie and role too.

Nasser and Laila does not have exactly much to do but they still give their best. Ashish Vidhyaarthi's debut into Tamil movies is also a good one.

The action scenes are well taken and executed.

 WHERE THINGS WENT WRONG

The music is one disappointing pice. And therefore even the songs are not much to look out for in this action movie.

The story and theme is one that the audience have seen several times over and over again. The storyline is also very close to the recent Manoj Bajpai movie GHAATH.

Another comedy track featuring Vivek hampers the flow of the movie.

Vikram is once again at his best in the movie. The same fire and effort we saw in him in SETHU can be seen all over again in this movie and role too.

Too much blood all over is going to keep family audiences away.

Though it boasts of a story that is as old as cinema itself, the impressive performance from Vikram and Ashish Vidhyaarthi is what keeps DHIL above average!
